Steel Industries (SSI) has enlisted Shoreland Access to carry out NDT
inspections on their Blast Furnace at their Redcar site – the second largest
Blast Furnace in Europe.
The mammoth 3
month project will see Shoreland Access utilise both their NDT and Rope Access
divisions with 12 of Shoreland’s engineers based permanently on site for the
duration of the works.
Shoreland
Access Director, Neil Cox, says “We are absolutely delighted to be working
alongside SSI on this project. It is testament to the growing reputation
of Shoreland Access that we were able to win this illustrious contract as just
about every other Company in our marketplace was involved in this tender process”.
Work on the
project commenced in October of 2013 and is due for completion in January
2014.
