A Titan of a job in Glasgow

Shoreland Access has completed remedial safety work on the famous Barclay Curle Titan Crane – one of only 4 Titan Crane’s left on the River Clyde.
The Grade A listed Monument, which once had been at the very heart of shipbuilding in Glasgow, had been left untouched for years and as a result parts of the magnificent structure had become unstable.
Shoreland Access successfully removed parts of the decayed steel and utilising both Rope Access and NDT made her safe again.
The hope one day is that the crane will receive funding from Lottery Heritage to restore her to her former glory.

Shoreland Access Director, Neil Cox, says “This job was a little bit extra special for us, given the site was operated by Swan Hunter for years, and Swan Hunter are engrained as part of our heritage on our native Tyneside”.
